MAYME C. JULIUS
Mayme Caroline Anderson was born on January 21, 1901, in Ruthven, Iowa, to Christ and Josie Thorson Anderson. The family then moved to Colorado, where they lived several years. Later they resided in Iowa, where they farmed. She was united in marriage to E. E. "Dutch" McCallum on November 18, 1922, in Elmore, Minn. He preceded her in death on June 4, 1967. They lived in Goldfield after their marriage, then moved to Eagle Grove in 1930. On February 3, 1970, she married Joseph Julius, he preceded her in death on September 7, 1996.

She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Eagle Grove, where she was also active in circle and the guilds. She joined the Equality Club in 1934, and was awarded as a Fifty Year Member. She was very active with her husband, Joseph, in the Eagle Grove Senior Citizens Band.

Mayme C. Julius died Wednesday, June 17, 1998, at Community Memorial Hospital in Clarion at the age of 97. Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Baldner, Midwest City, Okla.; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three brothers, Cecil, Elmer and Myrl Anderson; one sister, Berneice Johnson; three stepdaughters, Lorraine Guthrie, Norma Grady, and Phyllis O'Brien, all of Fort Dodge; one step-son, Harlen Julius, Arnolds Park; twelve step-grandchildren; and twenty step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, E. E. "Dutch" McCallum and Joseph Julius; one brother, Howard; four sisters, Clara, Nellie, Esther, and one as an infant; a son-in-law, Richard Baldner; a grandson, Andrew Baldner, and a step-son, Bernard Julius.

Services were held on Saturday, June 20, 1998, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Church of Christ in Eagle Grove with Reverend Julia Rendon officiating. Burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery in Goldfield. Willim Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
