Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Thor Lutheran church for John Hildahl. He was born in Hardanger, Norway, on March 18, 1854, and died at the age of nearly 81 years. In 1881 he emigrated to America, coming directly to Baltic, S. Dak. In 1897 he moved to a farm near Thor. In September of that year he married Bertha Knutson.

His parents and brothers and sisters all preceded him in death. He is survived in So. Dakota by a large group of nieces and nephews. Since the death of Mrs. Hildahl, 21 years ago, he has made his home with the Hans Moklebust family. He is also survived by five stepchildren, Mrs. Hans Moklebust and George Knutson of Thor, Mrs. Jake Maland of Sioux City, Chris Knutson of Presho, So. Dak., and Henry Knutson of Eagle Grove.
