September 8, 1874 ---- April 1, 1955

Funeral services for Miss Lena Thompson, aunt of Mrs. Frank Champlin, were held Monday afternoon, April 4, at 2 p.m. at the Wilson-Sacquety Funeral Home in Eagle Grove, with burial at the Rose Hill Cemetery there. Miss Thompson was born in Fort Dodge in 1874, later moving to Eagle Grove where she was a seamstress for many years. The past 15 years she resided in Des Moines- first with a nephew, H.W. Ofterdinger, and a sister Mrs. Rudolph Horns, and the past eight years at Kenyon Nursing Home, where she died April 1. The Rev. B. F. Molstre of Eagle Grove had charge of the funeral services. Music was furnished by Miss Gusta Brown, Mrs. Carl Sunner and Miss Anne Falk, who sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Haven of Rest." Pallbearers were J. M. Ofterdinger, H. W. Ofterdinger, and Don Horns of Des Moines, and Arden Thompson, Harlan Jotten and Harold Finch.

Miss Thompson is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Rudolph Horns of Des Moines and Mrs. Floyd Roscoe of Armstrong, Minn. and one brother Clarence Thompson of Colorado Springs, Colo. There were many memorial gifts and flowers.
