Februar. 23, 1898 ---- October 31, 1983

LAKE PRESTON, S.D. - Olga Thompson, 85, a Lake Preston resident for many years, died Monday in the Kingsbury Memorial Hospital, Lake Preston. Olga Alexander was born Feb. 23, 1898, in Eagle Grove, Iowa. She attended school in Harrisburg, S.D., and married Alfred Thompson Oct. 25, 1922, in Brookings. The couple farmed in the Sinai, Miller and Lake Preston areas. After they retired they moved into Lake Preston. Her husband died in 1952.

Survivors include a son, Dwain, Fromberg, Mont.; four daughters: Mrs. Roy (Gladys) Anderson, Sioux Falls, Mrs. Ray (Mavis) Crandall, Arlington, S.D., Mrs. Pat (Marvel) O'Conner, Lewistown, Ill., and Mrs. Vaughn (Leona) Brandner, Lake Preston; 21 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one great-greatgrandchild; two brothers: Jess Alexander and Albert Alexander, both of Volga, S.D.; and three sisters: Mrs. Anna Hanson, Volga, Mrs. Mabel Mathison, Sioux Falls, Mrs. Delia Mortis, Des Moines, Iowa, and Mrs. Helen Feldman, in New Jersey.

Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Lake Preston Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Lake Preston City Cemetery. Visiting will be this afternoon and evening in the Johnson-Henry Funeral Home, Lake Preston, and before services Wednesday in the church.
