Robert Fogel passed away at home Sunday, Sept. 10, 2006, in Los Osos, California. He was born Sept. 13, 1920, in Iowa to Grace Robinson and Darwin Galloway. Later in his life he was adopted by William Fogel who was a wonderful father to him. He spent his childhood in Chicago, Ill., where he learned to tap dance and do Vaudeville acts. Dancing helped pay his way through Drake University, where he graduated as a music major. He also joined the Armed Forces and played clarinet in the Army band.

He married Marie Wissler in 1943, and after the war, they moved to California where he developed a successful career as a business and sales executive for various companies. They created together a warm home for their children and their friends. In 1986, they retired to Los Osos where they resided for 20 years.

Robert and Marie enjoyed 63 great years together.

He will be remembered for his love of his family and entertaining their many friends.

He is survived by his sons, Bob and Brad Fogel and their wives, Donna and Teri; grandchildren, Laura, Julia, Shawn, Nicholas and Christina. He was recently preceded in death by his wife, Marie.
