November 5, 1892 --- December 26, 1966

Mrs. Susan Frakes, 74, of Duncombe, formerly of Eagle Grove, died Sunday morning at the Hamilton County hospital at Webster City, where she had been a patient the past two weeks. She had been in ill health for several years.

Funeral services were at 9:30 a. m. Wednesday at the St. Joseph's Catholic church in Duncombe with the Rev. Dale Koster officiating and burial was in Calvary Cemetery here.

Susan Margaret Nilles, daughter of Nicholas and Elizabeth Nilles, was born Nov. 5, 1892, on a farm near Eagle Grove. She received her education in Fremont township, Hamilton county and grew to young womanhood in that community.

She was united in marriage Oct. 30, 1913, to W. W. Frakes, and the couple resided in Woolstock for two years, then moved to Eagle Grove where Mr. Frakes owned and operated a hardware and implement business.

Following the death of her husband in 1933, Mrs. Frakes moved to Denver, Colo, where she resided until five years ago. At this time, she moved to the Duncombe community.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Loretta C. Drackley of Frederick, Md.; one step-daughter, Mrs. George (Mary) Townsend, Minneapolis, Minn., one grandson, David E. Drackley, Jr. and several step-grandchildren, four brothers and seven sisters.
