Patricia Ann Horan was born October 14, 1933, the daughter of Joseph Augusta and Alma Hilmina Carlson Horan at Clarion, Iowa She received her education in the Clarion school system and graduated from Clarion, High School in 1951.

She was united in marriage to Richard L Forbes of Eagle Grove, Iowa on January 5, 1956 at St John's Catholic Church, Clarion. The couple made their home in Eagle Grove. She was employed as a teacher's assistant in the Eagle Grove Middle School. She then worked as a clerk at the Kenefick Pharmacy and later Kramersmeier Drug in Eagle Grove.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove and the Sacred Heart Guild. She was also a member of ALS Support Group.

She died in her home from Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS) on August 21, 1994. She had attained the age of 60 years, 10 months and seven days.

Survivors include her husband, Richard L. Forbes of Eagle Grove; sons: John Forbes and wife Cynthia of Urbandale, Iowa; Brian Forbes and wife Kathryn of Tulsa, Okla.; and Mark Forbes of Atlanta, Ga.; daughter Monica Siemens and husband Ron of Goldfield, Iowa; four-grandchildren, Adam and Meredith Forbes of Urbandale, and Lauren and Grant Forbes of Tulsa, Okla.; and a sister, Mary Lou Horan of Clear Lake, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services for Patricia Forbes were held on Wednesday, August 24, 1994 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove. The Reverend Wayne Droessler officiated the 10:30 a.m. Mass of Resurrection and burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Willim Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.
