Funeral services will be this morning (Thursday) at 9:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church for Dr. John Forbes of Tulsa, Okla., a former Eagle Grove resident.

Dr. Forbes, 51, died suddenly about 10 p.m. Monday night in a hospital in Muskogee, Okla. where he had been a patient for about three weeks following a stroke.

He is survived by his wife, a son and daughter, Jerome and Mary, 14-year-old twins, two brothers, William and Richard of Eagle Grove and three sisters, Marjorie Winge and Marilyn Parent of Long Beach, Calif., and Lois Ridgeway of Ankeny. They will all be here for the services.

Dr. Forbes was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Forbes who lived on East Broadway. He graduated from Eagle Grove High School and the Palmer School of Chiropractic in Davenport and has been practicing in Tulsa for many years.

Rosary services were conducted at the Wilson Funeral Home Wednesday night.
