Kenneth Victor Foster, the son of Sam and Hilda L. Myers Foster, was born on August 25, 1910, at Belmond, Iowa. As a child, he moved to Eagle Grove where he grew up and received his education. On February 13, 1933, he was united in marriage with Harriet Fosnaugh at Dakota City, Iowa. After their marriage the family lived in Algona for 25 years, of which Kenneth was employed at the National Byproducts Company for 14 years and then was self-employed. The family has lived in Eagle Grove for the past 23 years and for the past 4 years he has been a resident of the Emmetsburg Care Center. Before that he had lived with a daughter for 4 years. He was a member of the Samuel Lutheran Church.

He died at the Emmetsburg Care Center on Sunday, July 14, 1985, at the age of 74 years, 10 months and 19 days.

He is survived by his wife, Harriet Foster of Eagle Grove; six daughters, Beverly, Mrs. Ralph Blue of Eagle Grove; Mrs. Thelma Johnson of Graettinger, Iowa; Rita, Mrs. Jim Ferguson of Cedar Rapids; Harriet, Mrs. Jim Pester of Fort Dodge; Verna Foster of Eagle Grove; Susan, Mrs. James Kamprath of Graettinger, Iowa; four sons, Ronald Foster of Great Lakes, Ill.; Kenneth Foster of Fort Dodge; Sam Foster of Woolstock and Steve Foster of Eagle Grove; 39 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Almeda Williams of Eagle Grove; Viola, Mrs. Tim Osborne of Winterset, Iowa; two brothers, Robert Foster of Algona and Leo Foster of Los Angeles, Calif.; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 grandchildren, 4 brothers, Clinton, Oscar, Robert Eugene and William. Also 3 sisters, Nora Christenson, Queta Brody and Grace Winters.

Funeral services for Kenneth V. Foster, 74 of Eagle Grove, were held on Thursday, July 18,1985 at 1:30 p.m. at the Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. Rev. Carlton Shaw, church pastor officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Visitation was held on Wednesday at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home.
