The deceased retired as usual, but when he did not arise in the morning and investigation revealed the fact that he was in a serious condition, passing away shortly thereafter. He had been ailing with heart trouble for the past two years. Only recently he returned from a visit with a son residing in Minnesota. No inquest was deemed necessary.

Former Citizen Passed Away Suddenly Thursday at the Home of his Sister, Miss Mary Donovan.

M. D. (Don) Donovan, died at the home of his sister, Miss Mary Donovan last Thursday forenoon. He had been in rather poor health for several months. In fact, his health prompted him to leave his farm last spring near Avoca, Minn., and move to Tracy, Minn. A few weeks ago he came to Eagle Grove for medical treatment and care. While it was known his trouble was serious, yet no one realized the end was so near. He was sitting up in his chair last Thursday forenoon. He asked his sister for the mail along about 11 o'clock, and then settled back in his chair. He had passed on.

Mr. Donovan farmed near Eagle Grove for a number of years on his father's farm south of town. It is still known as the Donovan farm, although the ownership passed to J. D. Thebiay in 1916. Prior to his marriage, Mr. Donovan was marshal in Eagle Grove. He moved his family to a farm near Avoca. Minn., in February of 1916, and lived on his farm there until he moved to town last spring.
