Nita Waddell was born in Eagle Grove, Iowa August 31, 1900 and died in Des Moines March 28, 1922. She was 21 years, 7 months old at the time of her death. Nita Waddell was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Waddell, who with one brother, John, preceded her in death some years ago. After her parents died she made her home with her uncle, Hiram Waddell until his home was broken up by the grim reaper, after which she lived with her cousin, Arthur Hopkins, of this city, until she went to live with Mr. and Fred Gibson, of Des Moines. She attended school here until she reached the tenth grade in high school.

Nita Waddell leaves to mourn her loss, a twin sister, Mrs. Lee Weir, of Webster City, Iowa, and one brother, Albert Waddell, of Philadelphia, besides uncles, aunts and cousins and a countless number of friends. She was a lovable girl, always willing to do her part, and particularly was she kind to children, gracious and sweet to all. During her illness she confessed her Saviour and expressed her desire to be Baptized if she lived. The funeral service was held at the Baptist church Thursday afternoon, Rev. E. A. Anderson Officiating.

The body was laid to rest in Rose Hill cemetery.
