Young Wright, County Farm Stricken Sunday and Died Last Thursday Morning.

Harold Derscheid died early last Thursday morning. He had apparently been in his usual good health until last Sunday when he [unreadable] disease [unreadable] of the stomach and he was hurried to Fort Dodge where an operation was preformed, but it was known right away that any hope of saving the young man’s life was unfounded—that death was inevitable.

This is the second death in the Derscheid family in the past two months. Harold had been married but a year last September, and was busily engaged in looking after his brother's farm when his fatal illness took him. He was a graduate of the high school and was universally well liked by a very large acquaintance. The bereaved family has the sincerest sympathy of the entire county in the hour of their great afflictions. Two deaths in the same family, where the lives of young men just past their majority are claimed within a few weeks is a cross to bear, seldom required of one family.

Harold George Derscheid, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Derscheid, and was born in Eagle Grove, la., July 7, 1904. He has lived in this vicinity all his life. He was graduated from the Eagle Grove high school in the class of 1924.

He was united in marriage to Miss Hazel Boughton on Sept. 13, 1926. They lived in Eagle Grove till after the death of his brother, John, whose funeral was held here on Sept. 20th of this year, when they moved to the farm which John was running.

On Sept. 26th a baby girl was born to them.

On Sunday, Nov. 6th, Harold took suddenly and violently ill. On Wednesday he was taken to Fort Dodge for an operation in the hope of saving his life.

He died at 1:15, Nov 10, 1927, at the age of 23 years, four months and three days.

Harold was a fine young man, well liked by everybody who knew him. He will be greatly missed in the community. He is survived by his wife and baby, his parents and Morris of Kenyon, Minn., Grace of Cedar Falls, Mrs. Bess McVicker of Kenyon, Minn., and Lucille Abbott of Eagle Grove.

Funeral services were held in the Congregational church on Sunday afternoon and the sermon was preached by his pastor. Rev. W. G. Muhleman of the Methodist church. Interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery.
