A. Dale Daniels, 63, of Eagle Grove, died Thursday, July 29, 2004, at the VA Hospital in Des Moines.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 2, 2004, at Samuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Stan Peterson officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

A. Dale Daniels was born October 17, 1940 in Bedford, Iowa, the son of Francis E. and Hazel (Stickelman) Daniels. He was raised and educated in the area of his birth He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1957-1961. On March 25, 1962 he married Marilyn Larsen in Armstrong. They made their homes in Council Bluffs, Armstrong, Estherville, and for the last 37 years in Eagle Grove. He worked as a truck driver from Umthun Trucking in Eagle Grove for over 20 years. He also drove for Van Diest Supply in Webster City, Warren in Waterloo, and BTI out of Des Moines. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Daniels, of Eagle Grove; five children Debra Lesher and her husband, Mike, of Woolstock; Lisa Smith and her husband, Bryan, of Yucca Valley, Calif., Allen Daniels and his wife, Annette, of Eagle Grove, Melissa Mattson and her husband, Christopher, of Mason City; and Christopher Daniels and his wife, Kathy, of Eagle Grove, 10 grandchildren with one on the way; and five brothers J. Ralph Daniels and wife Elinor of Maryville, Mo., Glen Daniels and his wife, Carol, Roy Daniels and his wife, Mary; Doyle Daniels and his wife, Mary Ann, all of Warsaw, Mo.; and Gene Daniels of Bedford. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Duane Daniels; and an infant sister.

Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove was in charge of the arrangements.
