February 14, 1880 --- May 11, 1959

H. B. Damon, 79, died Monday afternoon at a nursing home in Mason City where he had been a patient for about six months, following a long illness.

Funeral services will be this (Thursday) afternoon at the Kastler Funeral Home in charge of Rev. Albert Snyder, pastor of the Baptist church. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery.

Mr. Damon is survived by his wife, and eight children; Walter, Arthur and Ivan of Brighton, Mich.; Mrs. Ione Sherlock of Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. Myrtle Glendenning of Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Sylvia Anderson of Watervllle; Mrs. Alta Turner of Mason City and Mrs. Orville Hill of Eagle Grove. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Obituary

Henry Bert Damon was born Feb. 14, 1880 in Decatur, Ill., to William and Mary Damon He came to Eagle Grove as a young man and had been a resident here for 59 years. On Oct. 25, 1901 he was married to Abbie Grace Harris and to this union 12 children were born.

Four preceded their father in death 2 in infancy also Harry in 1946 and Harris killed in World War II.

Those surviving are his wife Abbie and 8 children, Walter, Arthur and Ivan of Brighton, Mich.; Ione Sherlock of Detroit, Mich.; Myrtle Glendenning of Long Beach, Calif.; Sylvia Anderson, Waterville; Alta Turner of Mason City, Cleo Hill, Eagle Grove, 15 grandchildren and 7 great- grandchildren.

His parents, 1 brother and 3 sisters preceded him in death.

He had been an invalid the last 13 years.
