Hans H. Dale was born at Benton county, Iowa, Oct. 22, 1869, and died at Rochester, Mlnn., Sept. 20, 1933, age 62 years, 10 months and 29 days.

He was baptized into Christ Jesus, received instruction and confessed his Christian faith. In his early youth he moved with his parents to Story City, Iowa, where he grew to manhood. He was united in marriage to Mrs. Maggie Johnson at Carroll, Iowa, Oct. 24, 1897.

He entered the service of the C. & N. W. Ry. as brakeman, Feb. 26, 1907 at Eagle Grove, and has made Eagle Grove his home since. On Oct. 1, 1912, he was set up as conductor. He remained in the service of the C. & N. W. Ry. until he died.

Hans was a faithful friend and dependable servant, a kind husband, a very friendly man to meet. He has a large circle of friends. He is survived by his dear wife and one daughter, Mrs. Hazel McLane of Chicago, Ill., his aged mother, three brothers viz: Lars of Story City and Annas of Chicago, Ill., and Peter of Des Moines, also by three sisters, Mrs. Lena Johnson and Hannah Dale both of Story City and Mrs. Amelia Amlund of Fargo, N. D.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from Kubitscheck & Kastler's Funeral Home at 1 o'clock, and from the East Side Lutheran church at 1:30. Burial was made in the Rose Hill cemetery.

Dale and daughter Ruth, Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Jacobson, Mrs. Laura Lerder, Treasa Dale, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Dale, L. L. Dale, and members of Mr. Dale's confirmation class, all of Story City, Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Dale of Chicago, Mrs. Evan Amlund of Fargo, N. D., Hanna Dale of Waterloo, Mr. and Mrs. P. D. Dale, Dorothy, Harold, Donald and Phyllis of Des Moines. Mrs. Harry Starks of Ames, and Mr. and Mrs. Jacobson of Gilbert.
