Obituary of Mrs. D. Price
(By Rev. E. A. Anderson)

Sarah Evans was born in New Bridge, Wales, Dec. 24, 1848, and passed to her eternal reward at Cherokee, Iowa, Feb. 6, 1929, from the infirmities of old age at the age of 80 years, one month and 13 days. She was reared on a farm in her native county.

She was united in marriage in the old country to David J. Price. A short time after marriage they journeyed to America, landing in New York, thence going to Missouri where they resided for a short time and then removed to Kenosha county, Wis., for three years, and in 1872 they came to Wright county, Iowa, and purchased a farm upon which they made their home until they retired and moved to Eagle
Grove.

Her husband preceded her in death seven years ago. Together they experienced much of pioneer life in Wright county and contributed much to the development of the community.

She was converted and accepted Christ as her Saviour and was baptized in early girlhood. She united with the First Baptist church of Eagle Grove to which she was a faithful and loyal member. She lived a sincere and upright Christian life, full of the love and spirit and example of the Master; always seeking to advance his Kingdom and bring forth fruit worthy of a follower of His. She shared with her husband in generous contributions of the material means God had trusted to their care for the support of the local church and to world-wide missionary interest of the Baptist denomination. The local congregation, received in one gift the parsonage. They also made a home for an orphan boy, Leslie Coats, who is now an electrician.

She leaves to mourn her passing, two sisters and one brother: Mrs. Annie Price, Webb, Iowa, Mrs. Jane Williams, Bellingham, Wash., and Wm. Evans, New Cambria, Mo., and their families. One sister and two brothers have preceded her in death. One brother, Thomas, also left a family living.

Funeral services were held at the First Baptist church in charge of Rev. E. A. Anderson, pastor. She was laid to rest in Rosehill cemetery beside her husband.
