T. M. Thompson’s Mother Dies Today At Webster City

Mrs. T. O. (Martha) Thompson, 89, of Eagle Grove, died very suddenly this morning at Webster City, where she was staying in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Margaret Hansen. Mrs. Thompson was the mother of T. M. Thompson of Creston.

Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Thompson are going to Eagle Grove this afternoon to assist in arrangements for funeral services. Funeral services are pending at this time.

Mrs. Thompson had suffered from diabetes for several years. She had visited in Creston many times but not in the past few years.

She is survived by five children, T. M. Thompson of Creston, Leonard Thompson of Eagle Grove, Mrs. Margaret Hansen of Webster City, Mrs. Sally Kavnaugh in California and Thomas Thompson of Des Moines and several grandchildren.

Mrs. Martha Thompson, 89, a long time Eagle Grove resident died Tuesday morning, Nov. 10 at the home of her daughter Mrs. Margaret Hanson [Hansen] in Webster City. Funeral services will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Evangelical Lutheran church with Rev. H. W. Schiller officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Hansen of Webster City, Mrs. Sally Kavnaugh, Burbank, Calif., three sons Melbourne of Creston, Leonard of Eagle Grove and Thomas M. Thompson of Des Moines. She is also survived by four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Thompson was born in Stavanger, Norway, Jan. 7, 1875. She came to Eagle Grove from Norway in 1893, was married here and made her home here continuously with the exception of some time spent during the week with her daughter, Margaret who works in Webster City. Mr. Thompson died Nov. 10th, 1935.
