Martin Christofferson [Christopherson], 83, died Saturday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ben Buraas, who lives west of town. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the East Side Lutheran church.

Martin Christofferson [Christopherson] was born in Hurdalen near Oslo, Norway, on Sept. 21, 1849 [1848], and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ben Buraas in Humboldt county, Iowa, March 12, 1932, age 83 years, five months and 20 days.

He was baptized into Christ Jesus in infancy, instructed and confessed his Christian faith in his youth. He came to the U. S. A. to Onawa, la, June 22, 1870.

In 1876 he was united in marriage to Miss Martha Boalsrud at Onawa. Two children were born to this union Alfred Cornelius and Olga Emilia. [Amelia].

In 1895 the family moved to Thor, Iowa, where he engaged in the furniture and undertaking business until in the summer of 1917 when he sold his business in Thor and moved to Eagle Grove.

In 1919 Mr. and Mrs. Christofferson [Christopherson] went to live with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Buraas west of Eagle Grove where they lived until they passed away from this life. Mrs. Christofferson [Christopherson] died Aug. 21, 1928.

He is now survived by the two above named children, Cornelius and Olga also by one grandson. Also surviving him is one sister Mrs. Ed. Bakke of Onawa, Ia. and another sister Mrs. Marie Gagnum of Buffalo, N. D.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran church at 2 o’clock.
