September 25, 1908 --- March 22, 1955

Funeral services will be Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Thor Lutheran church for Mrs. Olaf Lee of Humboldt. Mrs. Lee died Tuesday morning in the Clarion hospital, following a long illness.

Rev. O. O. Brandt will have charge of the services and interment will be in Rose Hill cemetery, Eagle Grove.

Mrs. Lee is survived by her husband, one son Thomon [Thomas], her mother Mrs. Thor [Thora] Johnson of Eagle Grove, three brothers Lawrence of rural route one, John of Greenbay, Wis., and Lt. Thos. Johnson in Japan.

The Thor Lutheran church was filled to capacity for funeral services held for. Mrs. Oscar [Olaf] Lee, Friday afternoon. Services were held at 1:15 at the Wilson-Sacquety funeral home in Eagle Grove; Rev. Olaf Brandt officiated.

Casket bearers were Art Nelson, Orval Nervig. Lloyd Lenning, Irvin Tokheim, Don Martin and Harold Jones. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove.

Lydia Johnson, daughter of John and Thora Johnson, was born Sept. 25, 1908 in Kopervik, Norway, and came to this County in 1919 when 11 years of age She was educated in the grade and high schools of Eagle Grove and confirmed in the Samuel Lutheran church. In 1938 she was united in marriage with Olaf Lee at Ft. Dodge, Iowa. They were the parents of one son, Thomas, age 14. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of Thor, and had been an active worker as Sunday School teacher and Jr. League advisor for several years. Prior to her marriage she had taught in the grade schools of Humboldt county six years. She had been in falling health for several months, and passed away at the hospital in Clarion March 22. Her father preceded her in death in 1949.

She is survived by one son, Thomas, husband Olaf Lee, mother, Mrs. Thora Johnson of Eagle Grove, three brothers, Lawrence Johnson of Eagle Grove, John Johnson of Green Bay, Wisc. and Thomas G. Johnson, jet pilot with the U. S. air force in Fukonka, Japan.
