Gertrude Hilpipre, 72, Blairsburg, died Saturday, July 11, 1992 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the United Church of Christ Congregational in Blairsburg with the Rev. Vernon Sorenson officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Webster City. Visitation is after 7 p.m. today at the Foster Funeral Home until 8 a.m. Wednesday when the casket will be taken to the church.

Gertrude Marie Kroll, daughter of Fred and Ruth (Fletcher) Kroll, was born Aug. 12, 1919. She was educated at Dows, graduating from Dows High School. On Dec. 11, 1938, she married Edmund Hilpipre at Williams. The couple farmed in the Woolstock and Blairsburg areas, retiring in 1989 and moving into Blairsburg.

She is survived by her husband, Edmund; son, Harold, Hubbard, daughters, Carolyn Miller, Webster City, Patricia Jacobson, Blairsburg; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; mother, Ruth Kroll, Webster City; sister, Adeline Collins, Dows; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and one sister in infancy. She was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregational in Blairsburg and the B. Neighborly Club of Webster City.
