June Irene Smith was born June 30, 1921, the daughter of Ralph and Iva Jones Smith at Eagle Grove. She received her education in the Eagle Grove school system.

She was united in marriage to James Clausen of Eagle Grove on August 8, 1940, at Laramie, Wyo. He died in 1967. She later married Ervin Moss of Goldfield on March 14, 1969 at Humboldt. Mr. Moss died in 1985.

She began operating the Goldfield Cheese Mart in 1972. She continued with the business until her retirement in 1986.

She was a member of the Goldfield United Methodist Church, and the V.F.W. Auxiliary.

June Irene Moss died August 9, 1992 at her home in Goldfield at the age of 71 years, one month, and nine days.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; five brothers, Gerald, Richard, Kenneth, Ralph Jr., and Lloyd; and a sister, Berniel Smith.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Jay (Patricia) Hanson of Webster City; four step-sons, Terry of Humboldt, Tom of Palisade, Neb., Tim of Elk City, S.D., and Trent Moss of Humboldt; four brothers, Earl Smith of West Bend; Dale Smith, Eagle Grove; John Smith of Bloomington, Ill.; and Donald Smith of Goldsboro, N.C.; a sister, Bernice Rawson of Portland, Ore.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three-step-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, August 14 at the Goldfield United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Rozendaal officiating at the 11 a.m. service. Burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield.

Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
