Beulah Louise Anfinson Mathre, daughter of Charlie Jonah Anfinson and Martha Ragnilde Olson was born in Wright County, Iowa, Clarion area on the 23 of June, 1903. She was baptized in the Holmes Lutheran Church. Sorrow came early in the family with the passing of her mother when she was only six years old, but the family was faithful in worship of the Lord.

She was confirmed and commissioned for mission service at St. John's Lutheran Church, Norway Township. She taught parochial school in many rural schools in the area and was a leader in the Sunday School. She attended Clarion High School and the Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis and graduated with the class, of 1931. She cared for her father until his death in 1933.

In 1934 she left as a volunteer missionary of the Sudan Mission in Cameroun, Africa. She married a fellow missionary, Raymond O. Mathre on July 27, 1937, and together they served the Lord for 40 years in Africa.

She is survived by her husband Raymond, one daughter, Marianne Nock and son-in-law, Lloyd, and 2 grandsons, Bryan and Kevin Nock. Also a sister, Cora Egemo of Story City and 2 nephews, Robert Egemo, Lairfield, Ohio, and Charles of Story City and one niece, Marguerite Wagner, of Eagle Grove.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Ellen Egemo.

Services were held Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Minneapolis with burial on Monday at Newark, Ill.

Attending the funeral from this area were Edwin Anfinson, Clarion, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Wagner, Eagle Grove, Ted Koltvet and Mrs. Raymond Thompson, Clarion, Cora Egemo and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Egemo, Story City.
