March 11, 1908 --- June 14, 1985

Herman R. Mandsager, 77, Goldfield, died early Friday morning, June 14, at Trinity Regional Hospital. Services were at 10 a.m. Monday, June 17, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Victor Victoria, pastor of the Goldfield United Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial was at North Lawn Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Callie; son, Neil, Donahue, Iowa; daughter, Mrs. Ken (Carol) Peterson, Bettendorf; three grandchildren; brother, Kenneth, Fort Dodge; sisters, Mrs. Martha Thorsen, Pasadena, Calif., Mrs. Clare Piper, Fort Dodge, Mrs. Anne Moenck, Henning, Minn., Mrs. Gertrude Knickerbocker, Fort Dodge.

Mr. Mandsager was born on a farm near Thor and attended country schools. He married Callie Bumgardner in 1944 at Fort Dodge. The couple made their home on the family farm near Thor until moving to Goldfield in 1956. He then worked at the Goldfield Creamery and later at Farmland Industries, Eagle Grove, until retiring in 1973.
