24 December 1860 ---– 20 April 1919

Mrs. Mary Josephine Empman died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Art Thebiay Sunday morning at 11:45 o'clock. She was born in Sweden in 1860. At the age of twenty she came to the United States. She was united in marriage with E. Empman at Odebolt, Iowa, in 1881. To this union two daughters were born, Mrs. Art Thebiay of this city at whose home she lived and Mrs. George Smith of Kiester, Minn. Mrs. Smith was present at the funeral which was held Tuesday afternoon, and the burial was in Rose Hill cemetery. The relatives have the sympathy of all in their sorrow.
