Laura Malene Ellingston, the daughter of Jacob and Martha Hovland, was born on December 1, 1896 at Kanawha, Iowa. She died at her home in Eagle Grove on Saturday morning, April 26, 1980, at the age of 83 years, four months and 25 days. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith on January 1, 1897 and attended the Kanawha schools. She was united in marriage with Holden Ellingston of Kanawha on March 5, 1918 at Clarion. The couple farmed near Kanawha and Eagle Grove and was employed by the James Brothers Farms. Mr. Ellingston died in 1958. Laura moved to Eagle Grove several years ago.

She is survived by her sister, Mrs. Marie Conaway of Eagle Grove. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband and a brother, George.

Funeral services for Mrs. Laura Ellingston were held at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home on Monday, April 28 at 10:30 a.m.
