November 20, 1895 --- December 25, 1982

Mrs. Oline Howland Egesdal, the daughter of Ole and Marie Haugland, was born on Nov. 20, 1895 at Os, Bergen, Norway. She grew up and received her education in Norway. In 1928, she came to America and settled in Eagle Grove, where she was employed at the Broadway Cafe. On March 24, 1930, she was united in marriage with Lauritz J. Egesdal at Fort Dodge. The couple made their home in Eagle Grove, where Mr. Egesdal was a tiler and Mrs. Egesdal continued to work at the restaurant for several years. Mr. Egesdal died on Sept. 7, 1967. Oline continued to live in their home at 600 N. Wright in Eagle Grove until moving to the Clarion Care Center, where she has lived for the past year and nine months. She was a long-time member of the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Egesdal died on Saturday morning, Dec. 25, 1982, at the Clarion Care Center at the age of 87 years, one month and five days.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews including, Esther, Mrs. Norris Skadburg of Goldfield; Mrs. Mildred Edwards of Clarion; Olaf Moss of rural Clarion; Harold Moss of Webster City; Martin Moss of rural Clarion; Orville Moss of Eagle Grove; Simon Haugland of Newport Richey, Fl.; Bjarne Haugland of Huntington Station, N.Y.; Johanas Haugland, Sophie Haugland and Mrs. Kristin Knarvik, all who live in Norway; and other relatives and friends, both in the United States and Norway. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services for Mrs. Oline H. Egesdal, were held on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1982 at 1:30 p.m. at the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church. Pastor Paul Schaedig officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Eagle Grove. Visitation was held on Tuesday at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home.
