Lauritz John Egesdal was born November 1, 1878 in Norway to Ole and Elizabeth Egesdal. He died at his home at 600 North Wright, Eagle Grove on Sept. 7, 1967 after reaching the age of 88 years, 10 months and 6 days.

Mr. Egesdal was educated in Norway and came to America in 1903, settling in Illinois, and later moving to Eagle Grove. He was employed by the railroad for a number of years and also tiled and farmed. On March 24, 1930 he was married to Olein [Oline] Howland at Fort Dodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 sisters, Lena and Marie, 2 brothers; Mandius and Lars.

Those who mourn his departure are his wife, 4 brothers: Olaf Egesdal, Eagle Grove; John Egesdal, Toledo, Oregon; Andrew Egesdal, Bay City, Oregon; Bernhard Egesdal, Norway; by 3 sisters: Oline Egesdal, Galesburg, Illinois; Mrs. Louise Peterson, Chicago, Illinois; Cecelia Evanson, Norway and by other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, September 11, 1967 at. 2:00 at Sandvig Funeral Home, Rev. W. E. Carlson, Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church, in charge. Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery.
