November 30, 1903 --- February 21, 1964

Graveside services were held here Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 at Rose Hill cemetery for Mrs. Edward Crocco, 63, of St. Petersburg, Fla. The Rev. Ivan Smith pastor of the First Congregational church officiated.

Mrs. Crocco died Friday morning at her home from complications following a long illness.

Mrs. Crocco was the former Edith Elliott, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Elliott of Eagle Grove. Mr. Elliott was in the tailoring and clothing business here many years ago and they made their home on North Lincoln Avenue.

She was a graduate of Drake University where she was affiliated with the Chi Omega sorority, and she taught in Eagle Grove and other Iowa schools for several years. Later she attended a business administration college in Boston, Mass.

She is survived by her husband, one sister, Mrs. Everett Cotton of Mitchell, S. D, and three step sons, John E. of Old Greenwich, Conn., Bruce A., Glen Rock, N. J. and Edward M. of Elmira, N. Y.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Genevieve Elliott. Mrs. Cotton is also very ill in a hospital in Mitchell, S. D.

Mr. and Mrs. Crocco moved from Ridgewood, N. J. to St. Petersburg four years ago, and at the present time Mr. Crocco is seriously ill.

Edith Emma Elliott was born to Charles and Etta Elliott on Nov. 30, 1903 in Eagle Grove.

She attended the Eagle Grove schools, graduating in 1922. She attended Drake University after which she taught one year in the city schools of Fredricksburg.

During her college years, she spent her summers in charge of the camp store in the Y.W.C.A. camp at Lake Okoboji and later in Portland, Maine.

She taught several years in the Eagle Grove schools.

In the meantime she became interested in personnel work, so she went east for a years study in Boston.

On completion of her work there she entered Bloomingdale's Dept. Store in New York City where she was in charge of personnel work.

Later she entered the auditing department and became head of the department.

From Bloomingdale's she entered the employee of Gimbel Brothers, as assistant comptroller.

She remained there until the completion of an invention which she had worked out which was built by the Mosler Safe Co.

Thereupon she was employed by the Mosler Safe Co. to demonstrate the invention.

She traveled widely in this line of work.

On Dec. 15, 1956 she married Edward A. Crocco.

After living in New Jersey for several years they moved to St. Petersburg, Fla., where she died on Feb. 21.

She is survived by her husband and his three sons and one sister Eugenia (Mrs. Everett Cotton) of Mitchell, S.D.

Her parents and her sister Genevieve preceded her in death in 1961.
