3 June 1890 --- 12 December 1978

Edward Pohlman, son of Charles and Frances Proffle [Broeffle] Pohlman, was born June 3, 1890 at Eagle Grove, Iowa. He attended school at Eagle Grove. On June 22, 1912, he was united in marriage with Serena Olson, of Eagle Grove. They were married at Eagle Grove and lived here until her death in 1944.

In October 1948, Ed and Hilda Schaeffer of Eagle Grove were married at Ayrshire, Ia., making their home at Eagle Grove. They resided at the Rotary Ann Home since March 1977.

Ed worked as a carpenter for Al Jacobson at Eagle Grove and was employed by the City of Eagle Grove as a fire truck driver and worked for the Park Commission. He was a member of the Firemen's Association.

Edward died Friday, Dec. 15, 1978, at the age of 88. Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers, four sisters, his first wife and one daughter. Survivors include his wife, Hilda, one son, David Pohlman of Boulder, Colo.; five daughters: Vera (Mrs. Ruben) Erland of Eagle Grove; Vivian Jackson of Clarion; Maxine Nelson of Glen Ellyn, Ill.; Dolores Mallon of Chicago; Mary Jo (Mrs. Charles) Marini of Norwalk, Ohio; two step-daughters: Lenore (Mrs. Pete) Sadler of Renwick and Max (Mrs. Joseph) Helgevold of Ayrshire, one brother, Floyd Pohlman of Eagle Grove; 28 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 18, 1978, at the Kastler-Babcock-DeYoung Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Rev. Charles Dutton officiated and burial was at Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove,
