Funeral services for Mrs. L. W. Middleton, 61, of 336 Almond street, will be at 10 a. m. tomorrow at Sacred Heart Catholic church, Eagle Grove, Ia., with burial in Rosehill cemetery, Eagle Grove. Kastler funeral home, Eagle Grove, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Middleton died unexpectedly at 9:30 p. m. Thursday at Allen Memorial hospital of heart trouble. She had been ill since Monday.

Mrs. Middleton was born Aug. 17, 1890, in Lake City, Ia., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Griffin. She was married in Eagle Grove in 1911 to L. W. Middleton. The couple had lived in Waterloo 16 years. Mrs. Middleton was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church and several organizations of that church. She was also a member of various civic clubs including the Woman's Club of Waterloo.

Survivors include her husband; her mother, Mrs. Dennis Griffin, Long Beach, Cal.; three daughters, Mrs, D. W. Whitman [Wittman], Washington, D. C., Mrs. Robert Hill, Emmetsburg, and Mrs. F. W. Parrish, Ottumwa; 11 grandchildren and one brother, Lawrence Griffin, Long Beach.

Last rites were held here Monday morning for Mrs. Wayne Middleton of Waterloo, who died Thursday night in a hospital there following a brief illness.

Services were held at Sacred Heart Church in charge of Rev. James Slowey, and burial was in the Middleton family lot in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Middleton was stricken with a heart attack at 3 a. m. Tuesday morning and was taken to a hospital later that day. Her condition was not regarded as serious and death came suddenly the evening of Feb. 7th.

She is survived by her husband and three daughters, Mrs. Virgil Wittman, Washington, D. C., and Mrs. R. F. Parrish, Ottumwa, and Mrs. R. C. Hill of Emmetsburg, also her mother, Mrs. Dennis Griffin of Long Beach, Calif., and 11 grandchildren.

The deceased was born Aug. 17th 1890 in Lake City, Iowa, and moved here with her parents when a young child. She was a graduate of Eagle Grove high school, and attended Iowa State Teachers college. On Oct. 4th, 1911 she was united in marriage to Lyman Wayne Middleton in Eagle Grove and three daughters were born to this union, Jean, Gail and Doris. The family resided in Eagle Grove where Mr. Middleton was in business until about 10 years ago when they moved to Waterloo.

In November Mrs. Middleton had a major operation, but during the past few weeks had been out and around in apparent good health.

Mr. and Mrs. Middleton were both severely injured two years ago when a truck crashed through the motel they were occupying at Long Beach, Calif. and her life was despaired of at that time. In addition to the three daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Middleton were the parents of one son, Lyman Wayne, Jr. who died in infancy.

Here from out of town for the funeral were Mrs. Wittman, Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Parrish and three sons and two daughters, Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Hill, and Mrs. Grace Middleton, Miss Margaret Middleton, Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. P. D. Cowan of Waterloo, Mrs. N. C. Rice, Algona, and friends and business associates from Des Moines and Waterloo.

While here Mr. Middleton and daughters were guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. McGrath.
