Services for Lyman Wayne Middleton, 74, of 336 Almond St., who died Thursday, will be Monday at 2 p. m. at the Methodist Church in Eagle Grove.

Mr. Middleton, a retired Waterloo business man, died of a coronary occlusion. Burial will be in the Eagle Grove cemetery.

Born June 1, 1890, at Eagle Grove to Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Middleton, he married Dorothy Tank [Tanck] in 1952. His first wife, Mable Griffin, preceded him in death. He is survived by his widow and three daughters, Mrs. Jean Whittman [Wittman], Washington, D. C; Mrs. Robert Hill, Monticello, Ill., and Mrs. Richard Parrish, Ottumwa.

Wayne Middleton, 74, died early Thursday morning at the Sam Middleton family home on South Commercial Ave. following a heart attack.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the First Methodist church with Rev. Lyle Lieder in charge. Burial was in the family plot in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Middleton is survived by his wife, Dorothy, three daughters, Mrs. Jean Wittman of Washington, D. C., Mrs. R. F. Parrish (Gail) of Ottumwa, and Mrs. R. C. Hill (Doris) of Monticello, Ill., and one step-daughter Mrs. Keith Sadler of Newton. He is also survived by one sister Mrs. Iona Piper of Washington, D. C., 20 grandchildren and nine-great grandchildren.

Mr. Middleton, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Middleton, was born and raised in Eagle Grove. He was in business here for many years; in a music store, in the automobile business and later in a home appliance store.

The family lived in Waterloo for many years where he was in business and it was there his first wife, the former Mable Griffin, died. In 1952 he was married to Dorothy Tanck of Renwick. Mr. Middleton retired from active business a few years ago and since that time he and Mrs. Middleton divided their time between their Waterloo and Eagle Grove homes.

His daughters and their families were present for the funeral services.
