Sioux Falls --- Arthur E. Wahlstrom, 92, 100 S. Van Eps Ave., died Thursday at the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He was born in Minnehaha County and homesteaded in Mead County west of Faith. He married Mabel Carruthers May 22, 1912 in Edison Township, and they farmed in the Brandon and Colton areas until moving to Sioux Falls in 1936. He worked for the Steinbergy Oil Co., and then for the Metz Baking Co. until his retirement in 1958. His wife died Aug. 25, 1979. Survivors include three daughters, Margaret Nelson, Eagle Grove, Mrs. Robert (Elva) McCaffrey, Grand Island, Neb., Peggy Ann Berg, Bremerton, Washington; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 :30 p.m. Monday at George Boom Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hills of Rest Memorial Park.
