Andrew Blaine Young, the oldest child of Agnes and William Bryce Young, as born in Emmetsburg, la., Sept. 28, 1883, and passed away on Sept. 9, 1942, at the age of 58 years, 11 months and 9 days.

In 1928, he was united in marriage to Evelyn Struck of Eagle Grove, Iowa.

Early in his life he became interested in railroad work, which he made his lifetime profession. He worked at various times with the Rock Island, Illinois Central roads, and served the Northwestern from 1906 to 1937.

Following the death of his wife in November, 1937, his health failed, and he retired from railroad work, and spent the remainder of his life with his mother and sister, Jane, at Emmetsburg. He leaves to mourn his departure, his mother and sister, Jane, of Emmetsburg, three brothers, William J. of Freeport, Ill., John of Chicago, and Herbert of Pocahontas. His father passed away in 1936.

Andrew took great pride in his work and was conscientious in all his undertakings. He was vitally interested in his home as well as his work.

He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and a Mason, belonging to Bower Lodge No. 464 at Eagle Grove.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Kubitschek & Kastler funeral home, in charge of the Rev. J. R. Tumbleson. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.
