Page 1, Column 5Funeral services for Mrs. Paul Yon, who died Wednesday night, March 30th, were held Friday afternoon in the Congregational church. Rev. Dale Brown, officiated at the services and interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Yon is survived by her husband and two daughters, Jacqueline, and Mary, her mother, Mrs. John Koss of Garnavilla [Garnavillo], three sisters, Mrs. Ben Schmidt, Guttenberg, Mrs. Eldo Dickson, Garnavilla [Garnavillo], Mrs. Ervin Lager, Dubuque and one brother Arnold Koss of Garnavilla [Garnavillo].
Mrs. Yon, the former Viola Koss, was a teacher In the Eagle Grove schools before her marriage to Paul Yon in 1935.
She had been ill for the past several years and spent much of her time the last few years in hospitals for treatments.
Out or town relatives and friends attending the services were Mrs. John. Koss, Mrs. Eldo Dickman, Mrs. Erbin Lager of Garnavilla [Garnavillo]; Mrs. Ben Schmidt, Guttenberg; Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Barnhart, Guttenberg; Mr. and Mrs. Gaylord Oelke, Monona; Mrs. Herbert Lenth, Mrs. Henry Diers Garnavilla [Garnavillo]; Mrs. E. C. Bilney, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Tibbetts, Estherville; Mr. and Mrs. Wyatt Yon, Storm Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Zinser, Ackley and relatives and friends from Goldfield and vicinity.

Page 3, Column 3Viola A. Koss, was born Aug. 13, 1907 at Garnavilla [Garnavillo], Iowa, the daughter of John and Enelia [Amelia] Koss.
She grew to womanhood in the vicinity of Garnavilla [Garnavillo] and attended school there. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church.
She attended Iowa State Teachers college and taught school at Dunkerton and Eagle Grove. She was a member of the Order of Eastern star.
In 1935 she was united in marriage to Paul Yon of Eagle Grove and they made their home on a farm east of Eagle Grove.
She is survived by her husband and two daughters, Jacqueline and Mary, her mother, Mrs. John Koss, three sisters and one brother and a host of friends.
