July 24, 1906 --- June 25, 1992

Percy E. Elkin, 85, Clarion, died at his home on Thursday morning, June 25, 1992. Funeral services were held from the Clarion Church of Christ on Saturday afternoon at one o'clock. Mark Young officiated and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Eagle Grove. A Masonic Service was held Friday evening at the Willim Funeral Home.

Percy was born July 24, 1906, at Gibson City, Illinois. He was the son of Grigg and Lucy Sparks Elkin. As a young man the family moved to the Webster City area. He and Lois J. Elwood were united in marriage at the Methodist Parsonage in Eagle Grove on January 8, 1940. At that time, he was a trucker and they lived in Eagle Grove. He started farming southeast of Clarion in 1954 and in 1956 moved to a farm at Belmond. In 1960 they returned and farmed at Clarion until they retired to town in 1974.

Survivors include his wife, Lois, two sons and their wives, Morris and Janell of Chippewa Falls, Wis. and Wayne and Cathy of Clarion, four grandchildren, Rodney, Mike, Erin and Eric. Four brothers, Carl and Don of Webster City, Grigg and Elmer of Eagle Grove and two sisters, Bertha Crystal and Viola Wearda both of Webster City. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Gilbert and Virgil and three sisters; Lillis Elkin, Ruby Rasmussen and Helen Fox.

Percy was a member of the Church of Christ. He had been a Mason since 1942 and belonged to Cyrene Lodge number 325 in Clarion. He was active in the Clarion Senior Citizens and served three terms as President.
