Iva A. Rossi, 88, formerly of Davenport, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 1995, at Walnut Grove Healthcare Center, Morris, Ill. Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Davenport, where she was a member. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park cemetery. Visitation is 3 to 6 p.m. today at Runge Mortuary, Davenport, with a Scripture service at 6. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
The former Iva Ennis was born Feb. 19, 1907, in Renwick, Iowa, the daughter of C.J. and Emma D. Griebel Ennis. She married John C. Rossi June 14, 1931, in Des Moines. He died April 29, 1981. She and her husband operated "The Polka Dot Shop" in northwest Davenport until 1956. She then operated the "Dolly Dear Clinic" doll hospital until her retirement. She was a member of the United Federation of Doll Clubs.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Edward Wirtz, Channahon, Ill.; grandsons, John Wirtz, St. Louis, Mo., Tom Wirtz, South Bend, Ind., Steven Wirtz, Brookfield, Wis., and Edward Wirtz, Jr., Tracy, Calif.; great-grandsons, Michael, David, Matthew and Douglas Wirtz, all of St. Louis, and Timothy Wirtz, Tracy, Calif.; and a sister, Nellie Kratz, Chariton, Iowa.
