Clyde P. Bush, 88, Geneseo, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, at Good Samaritan Village, Geneseo, Illinois. Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Concordia Lutheran Church, Geneseo. The Rev. Robert Yount will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo, with military rites conducted by Shearer American Legion Post 350, Geneseo. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Myers Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, Geneseo. Memorials may be made to the Clyde Bush Memorial Fund.
Clyde P. Bush was born Jan. 25, 1912, in Dows, Iowa, the son of Charles P. and Annie M. Stoermer Bush. He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II and participated in the European Theater, serving in Normandy, northern France, the Rhineland and central Europe.
His marriage to Pauline Whittington Neuleib took place on March 26, 1947, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Edford Township, Henry County.
Mr. Bush worked in construction for Ed Meier in Geneseo for 25 years. He then owned and operated Bush Insulation in Geneseo until retiring in 1980.
He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Geneseo. Mr. Bush loved woodworking, fishing, camping, playing cards, dancing and bingo.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline, Geneseo; sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and June Bush, Geneseo, and Leland and Ruth Neuleib, Kewanee; a daughter and son-in-law, Elaine Neuleib and Jim Henson, Geneseo; grandchildren and spouses, Tara Bush and Chad Bush, Geneseo, Annette and David Pickrel, Galesburg, Teresa Neuleib, Bloomington, Ill., Kevin Neuleib, Kewanee, and Jill and Chris Darin, Jeff and Christie Henson, and Scott Henson, all of Geneseo; and great-grandchildren, Brandon, Ashley and Zachary DeRoo, Kayla Bush, Harley Jo Gengenbach, and Keaton and Cameron Darin. He was preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers.
