Funeral services for Miss Gabrielle Marie Mathieu were held Saturday morning, Dec. 31st at Sacred Heart Church, the Rev. J. J. Brickley officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. Gabrielle, the daughter of Louis J. Mathieu and Marie Lejal was born in 1894 in La Petit Raon, France. In 1903 the family came to the United States and settled at Woolstock, Iowa. Three years later they moved to Eagle Grove where, with the exception of a few years she spent the remainder of her life. As a young woman she worked in the millinery business and in later years as a saleslady in several Ready to Wear stores. Gabrielle was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and active in church work.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Paul Joseph. She is survived by two sisters, Marquerite (Mrs. Marion Jones) of Wheatridge, Colo.; Gertrude (Mrs. Orel K. Workman) Arvada, Colo., and three brothers; Louis of Warrenville, Ill., Robert of Eagle Grove and Rene of Lombard, Ill.
