The Grim Reaper.

Death has again invaded a happy home in this city. Mrs. John VanNatta passed away at 11 o'clock last Monday night, aged 36 years, leaving a fond husband, a babe only two weeks old and three children aged 2, 4 and 6 years.

Mrs. VanNatta nee Dora Ellman was born in Holland and when only 5 years of age came with her parents to this country. They first found a home in Illinois but came to Iowa later and settled at Elmore. In the meantime she had grown to womanhood and eight years ago became the honored and esteemed wife of John VanNatta. A loving and true woman, how her little family will miss her—the husband as a companion and helpmate, and her children as a tender, thoughtful mother. In their sore affliction and irreparable loss many friends extend the sincerest sympathy.

Funeral services were conducted at the M. E. church yesterday forenoon at 10 o'clock by Rev. Southwell, tbe Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen, of which order Mr. VanNatta is a member, taking charge of the burial ceremonies and rendering invaluable assistance.

DEATH OF MRS. VAN NATTA [VANNATTA].

Monday night at 11:15 o'clock Mrs. John Van Natta [VanNatta] passed to her final rest. Two weeks ago she became the mother of a baby and in a few days certain complications set in which aggravated the case and, although no effort was spared to save her life, she was unable to withstand the trouble and death finally came as a welcome relief to her suffering which had been intense most of the time.

Dora Ellman was born in Holland thirty-six years ago. When five years of age she came to America with her parents who settled in Illinois. In later years they moved to Elmore and there, eight years ago she married John Van Natta [VanNatta], then, as now, an employe of the Northwestern. To them have been born four children, aged now 6, 4 and 2 years and the two-weeks old baby. There is also left a stepson James, to whom the deceased had been a loving mother.

Mrs. VanNatta was a loving and true wife, a true mother and a kind friend. To her husband and motherless children the deep sympathy of many friends will go out in their affliction.

The Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen of which Mr. Van Natta [VanNatta] is a member, took charge of the funeral arrangements and have done all possible for brotherly love and respect to do.
