24 June 1929 --- 1 April 1979

Rayner Marcel Hanus, son of August and Ethel Johnson Hanus, was born June 24, 1929, at Woolstock. He attended the Woolstock Public School. Later, he served in Korea in the United States Army. On June 10, 1957, Mr. Hanus was united in marriage with Joan Way of Eagle Grove. They were married at Worthington, Minn. They lived at Sioux Falls, S.D., moving to Springdale, Ark. in November, 1978. Rayner had been physically
disabled and retired from the Minnehaha County Road Department. Rayner died Sunday, April 1, 1979, at the Springdale Memorial Hospital, at the age of 49. Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister, Dorothy. (Mrs. Robert Connor), Survivors include his wife; two sons: Rayner, Jr. and Randall, both of Springdale1; two daughters: Shiela, who lives at home, and Mrs. Lavonne Painter of Sioux Falls, S.D.; one grandchild; seven brothers: Emil, Harold and Donald of Eagle Grove; Robert, Melvin and Dean of Webster City and Gary of Riley, Kans.; one sister, Norma, who lives in California.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 5,1979, 2:00 p.m. at the Kastler-Babcock-De Young Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Rev. Charles Dutton officiated and burial was at Rose Hill Cemetery.
