FRED ANDERSON DEAD

Passes Away Sunday Morning About 9 O’Clock

Fred J. Anderson passed away at his home five miles northeast of town Sunday morning at 9 o'clock, after a lingering illness extending over a period of about one year.

F. J. Anderson, the second son of Martin and Mary Anderson, was born at Leland, Illinois, October 9, 1866. When he was about two years of age his parents moved to Story county this state, where his father died in the same year. In 1882 the mother moved with her sons to this county where the family have resided ever since.

On the 18th of March 1889, he was joined in marriage to Miss Tena Danielson and to this union was born five children, she dying and leaving them motherless and four of whom are now living. Earl now makes his home at Mr. Wadsworth, near Goldfield, Harry is at home, Willie with an uncle in Minn., and Frances lives with Fred Smith in North Dakota.

On October 1, 1899 he was married to Miss Carrie Vaughn. To this happy union four children were born, Donald, Carlyle, Max and Averil and they are left with their mother to mourn his early death. Two brothers Andrew and John are the nearest relatives remaining.

He was a member of the fraternity of the Woodmen of the World and carried insurance in that order. He is now at rest free from all worries, sorrow and sickness.

The funeral was held on Tuesday, it being the deceased's fortieth birthday. Short services were held at the home at 11 o'clock and then the remains were brought to this city and the funeral services were held in the United Lutheran church. Rev. Holm had charge of the services and chose for his text, Luke Chapter 23 verses 42 and 43. From this text he spoke for a short time giving much spiritual comfort to the sorrowing relatives and friends who had gathered to attend the last sad rites. Interment was made in tho Rose Hill cemetery.

Those from out of town at the funeral were Fred Smith, of Tower City, No. Dak., Jake Danielson, Chicago, and son Willie and his uncle from Lambertson, Minn.

The entire community extends to the sorrowing family and relatives their sympathy.

Eagle Grove

Fred Anderson died at his farm home on Rural Route one Sunday morning and the funeral was held in the Wright Street Lutheran church Tuesday, Rev. Holm preaching to a large congregation of sympathizing friends. Mr. Anderson had not been in good health for a year or two, but was not seriously ill but about a week. The disease which baffled all skill was diabetes. He leaves eight children and a wife. He had a fine 80 acre farm and $1000 insurance in the W. O. W.

Fred J. Anderson was, born at Leland, Ill., Oct. 9th. 1866, and died Sunday Oct. 7th, 1906. He came to Wright county with his mother in 1882 and resided here until his death.

On the 18th of March 1889, he was married to Miss Lena Danielson of Eagle Grove township. To this union five children were born, four of whom, Earl, Harry, Willie and Frances, now survive both mother and father, the mother dying about eight years ago. On Oct. 1st, 1899, he was married to Miss Carrie Vaughn of this city and to this union four children were born, all of whom are living, Donald, Carlyle, Max and Averil. He is also survived by two brothers, Andrew and Jno. R. of Holmes.

Mr Anderson was a member of the W. O. W. fraternity in which he had a beneficiary policy of $1000, and also leaves his family a fine 80 acre farm near Holmes.

The funeral was held Tuesday Oct. 9th, his fortieth birthday. After a short prayer service at the farm home the regular funeral services were held in the Wright Street Lutheran church of this city, Rev. C. U. Holmes preaching the sermon from the text, "Today Shalt Thou be With me in Paradise." The divine comforted the family and friends with assurances the departed had made his peace with God, Mr. Anderson was a big hearted; genial friend and a good neighbor, liked by everybody. No one ever asked a favor or needed help at his hands but it was cheerfully given, even If at a sacrifice of his own interests. He is not only mourned by the loved wife and children but by every neighbor and every acquaintance. His death comes as great affliction to the wife and young children and they have the warm sympathy of all in this great trial.

The interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.
