Obituary of Cornelius Knutson

Cornelius Knutson was born near Norway, Ill., Jan. 2, 1854, and died January 9th, 1933, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Francis Sebby, near Sheridan, Ill., at the age of 79 years and 7 days.

Mr. Knutson lived near Norway in his youth, where in 1875 he was united in marriage, to Margaret J. Johnson. They later moved to Ford county, Illinois, where they lived until 1902, when they came to Eagle Grove, Iowa.

His wife preceded him in death at Eagle Grove in 1916. He then went to live at the home of his daughter Anna near Sheridan, Ill, where he passed away.

He leaves to mourn, his death his daughter, Mrs. Sebby, and two sons, Joseph and Isaac Knutson both of Eagle Grove, also fifteen grandchildren. One son, preceded him in death in 1927 and also one sister, Mrs. Martha Denny.

Funeral services were held in Newark, Ill., on Wednesday, January 11, and at Eagle Grove, Iowa, on Friday, January 13. The remains were laid to rest by those of his wife in Rose Hill cemetery.
