MILDRED LUCILLE HAHLEY
Mildred Lucille Hirsch was born on May 30, 1916, the daughter of Albert and Ella Alphs Hirsch at Thompson, Iowa. She received her education in country school near Buffalo Center, Iowa. Following her education, she worked as a housekeeper until her marriage to Warren Hahley on February 3, 1937, at Algona. The couple farmed near Algona, later moving to Colorado. They returned to Iowa, moving to Goldfield in 1963. Mr. Hahley died on November 13, 1980. She moved to Eagle Grove that same year and in 1982 moved in with her daughter, Janice, at her home in Eagle Grove. She remained there until becoming a resident at Humboldt Care Center South in Humboldt, Iowa, on December 3, 1995.

She was a member of the Nazarene Church in Clarion. Mildred Lucille Hahley died on Sunday, January 21, 1996, at the Humboldt Care Center South, Humboldt, Iowa, at the age of 79 years, 7 months and 21 days. Survivors include her three daughters, Janice Foster and husband, Lloyd, Patty Gill and husband, Robert, all of Eagle Grove, and Mary Gilbert and husband, Paul, Keno, Oregon; 16 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 3 step-great grandchildren; and brother, Ivan Hirsch, Rutland. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Melissa Gill; and a brother, Kenneth Hirsch.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, January 24, 1996. The Reverend William Kern officiated the
10:30 a.m. service. Burial was in Indian Mound Cemetery, Humboldt, Iowa. Willim Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
