Obituary of Mrs. Thelma Bjornson

Thelma Netland was born to the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Netland, Sept. 9, 1896 at Eagle Grove, Iowa, and passed away from this life near Lake Mills, Iowa, Oct. 17, 1932; age 36 years, 1 month and 8 days.

She was baptized into Christ Jesus in Infancy, received instruction and confessed her Christian faith in the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran church.

On October 4, 1922, she was married to Fred Bjornson. About eight years ago she became an invalid, completely losing the use of her lower limbs. She tried all the medical help which possibly could be tried, but received no help. She tried Christian Science, but found only disappointment. Then she turned to Jesus Christ, who says, “Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out”, Jno. 6.37 and there she found peace in His salvation. The last six years she has been bedfast, but she was always happy, “even though I often weep, yet I am happy” she said, “for the blood of Jesus has atoned for all my sins.” During the two last years, while living near Lake Mills, it was the privilege of Rev. O. R. Sletten to minister to her spiritual needs.

She is preceded in death by five brothers and one sister, and is survived by her husband, and by her aged mother, also by four brothers and two sisters, viz Ben Netland of Maple Hill, Iowa, Elmer Netland of Eagle Grove, Tandrup Netland of Fort Dodge and Myron Netland of Eagle Grove; also by Mrs. A. L. Craig of Stanhope, Iowa and Mrs. Wm. Olson of Eagle Grove, Iowa.

Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 20 from the church of her childhood. Burial was made in Rose Hill cemetery,
