Minnie Kennedy Kabele

Minnie Kennedy, youngest daughter of David and Martha Kennedy, was born at DeWitt, Iowa, Sept. 24th, 1865, where she grew to womanhood.

On January 9, 1884, she was united in marriage to Mr. Geo. Kabele. To this union were born seven children: Charles D., Frances, Lila, Joan, Martha, Mrs. I. H. Chapman, William and Mrs. Gerald Mosely.

Three children have preceded the mother in death. Two in infancy and William in young manhood.

Mrs. Kabele gave her life to Christ by professing faith in him as a Saviour and uniting with the church at an early age. The family was connected with the United Presbyterian church at DeWitt, Iowa, until February 1, 1897, when they moved to Wright county, near Goldfield. Since that time they have been faithful members of the Goldfield United Presbyterian church.

Mrs. Kabele lived a cheerful, consistant devoted Christian life. A living epistle open to the reading of even the passerby.

The stroke by which the Lord summoned her came suddenly, nor did she tarry long, obeying that summons in the early morning of Dec. 19, 1922.

She will be greatly missed in the home circle. In the church. In the community. Active in every good work, she leaves behind a fragrant memory, an example of devoted service and of willing sacrifice. We will arise with her children and call her blessed.

Mrs Kabele is survived by one sister: Miss Jennie Kennedy, of the Evergreen neighborhood and one brother, Rev. Jos. Kennedy, of Los Angeles, Calif.

The father and four daughters are left sorrowing in the home and yet their sorrow is not without hope, which hope is the eternal Son of God.

Funeral services were held in the United Presbyterian church at Goldfield on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The pastor, Rev. W. G. Comin, was assisted by Rev. J. F. Jamieson, of the Clarion United Presbyterian church.

Following these services the body was laid to rest in the Glenwood cemetery.
