Naomi Genevieve Howell, daughter of George E. Howell, former Eagle Grove resident, was born in Eagle Grove, Oct. 31, 1900. She passed away at Chicago, Sept. 25, 1928. Miss Howell moved with her parents to Pekin, Ill., in 1913, and to Sterling in 1915. She returned to Eagle Grove in 1917 and completed her high school training graduating from Sacred Heart High school in 1917. From Eagle Grove she returned to Sterling and remained there until 1923, at which time she moved to Chicago. While in Sterling she was employed by the First National bank and in Chicago she was a trusted employee of the Federal Reserve bank. She is survived by her father, George E. Howell, Sr., and two brothers, Harold Howell and George Howell, Jr. Miss Howell passed to the great beyond after a brief illness, caused by heart trouble. The remains were brought to Eagle Grove Wednesday evening, Sept. 26th, and were taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Howell on East Broadway.

Funeral services were held Thursday morning at Sacred Heart church. Rev. John W. Howell of Dubuque, cousin of the deceased, read the requiem high mass and Rev. T. J. Nolan gave an impressive sermon. Interment was made in Calvary cemetery where the mother, a sister and two brothers are buried. The pall bearers were acquaintances of the deceased Fred Lalor, Ed Lonning, Ben Green, John Henneberry, George Cole and Gordon Campbell.
