Anna Rose Bohy Malaise
16 January 1915 --- 12 July 2004

Rose Malaise, 89, of Eagle Grove, died Monday, July 12, 2004, at the Villa Care Center in Fort Dodge. Funeral services were held Thursday, July 15, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at the Samuel Lutheran Church with the Rev Paul Stone of the Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

Anna Rose Bohy was born January 16, 1915 in Woolstock, the daughter of Louis and Clara (Kallenbach) Bohy. On January 10, 1934, she married Clarence R. Malaise in Webster City. They lived and farmed in the Woolstock and Clarion area until 1944 when they moved to Eagle Grove. Clarence preceded her in death on September 14, 1977. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove where she was active in the Martha Circle. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Senior Citizens Center. Rose loved to fish, play bingo and cards, spend time with friends and family, and cook - especially baking kringla and lemon pie.

She is survived by her three children Merlyn Malaise and his wife, Pat, of Eagle Grove, Larry Malaise and his wife, Dawn, of Fort Dodge; and Dolores Olmstead of Eagle Grove; four grandchildren Brenda Olmstead of Eagle Grove, Michael Olmstead and his wife, Lon, of Eagle Grove, Steven Malaise of Marblehead, Mass., and Angela Malaise, of Englewood, Colo., four great-grandchildren Stephanie and Joshua Olmstead of Eagle Grove and Jennifer and Michael Olmstead of Fort Dodge, one sister, Esther Johnson of Eagle Grove; sisters-in-law, Mable Bohy of Eagle Grove and Edna Bohy of Des Moines, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clarence, three brothers Henry, Arthur, and Charles, and three sisters Martha, Catherine, and Margaret.

Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove was in charge of the arrangements.
