Mildred E. Qualley Broffman was born on November 19, 1924, in rural Clarion and died December 2,1990. A memorial service was held Wednesday, December 5 at First Lutheran Church in Northridge, California, where she had been a member since December 1964.
She was baptized in the home of her grandparents Olai and Lettie Anfinson and was confirmed in the Holmes Lutheran Church. She attended grade school in Lake Township and graduated from Clarion Public High School. She attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota for two years and later became an airline stewardess for TWA.
Her father, Edwin Qualley was killed in an accident while working in Albert Lea, Minnesota before her birth and her mother, Stella Marie Anfinson Qualley died as a result of childbirth ten days after Mildred was born.
She is survived by two daughters, Paulette Wagner and Lisa Finneran and a son Frederick Thomas and four grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her aunt Ethyl Anfinson Wilson of Clarion.
