TlLBERT A. THOMPSON

Tilbert A. Thompson was born at Leland, Ill., on June 27, 1909 and was the son of Thomas and Anna Ohme Thompson. In 1913, the family moved to Colfax, N. D. and in 1917, to Clarion. He received his education in the rural schools of Lake Township. On March 28, 1931, he and Hilma Carlson were married at the home of her parents near Clarion. They farmed northwest of Clarion until retiring to Eagle Grove in 1969. She died in 1989.

He was a member of Hauge Lutheran Church in Goldfield and was a former Sunday School teacher.

Tilbert Thompson, 80, Eagle Grove, died Monday morning, March 26, 1990, at the Community Memorial Hospital in Clarion where he had been a patient since January 4 of this year.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; an infant daughter, Phyllis Jean; brothers, Hiram and Kermit Thompson; and Maynard, Oscar and Alfred Tuftee.

He is survived by six children: Richard, Clarion; Harold, Clear Lake; Philip, Clarion; Mrs. Paul (Bertha Ann) Erickson, Clear Lake; Mrs. Charles (Joanne) Jensen, Burnsville, Minn.; and Mrs. Kenneth (Marianne) Bernhardt, Clarion; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Burton, Roland; and a sister, Bertha Brink, Glendale, Calif.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 28 at 2 p.m. from Hauge Lutheran Church in Goldfield. Burial was in the Holmes Lutheran Cemetery with the Rev. James Peterson officiating. The Eyler-Willim Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
