AMY LUCILLE VORRE

Amy Lucille Schwenck was born on June 13, 1895, the daughter of Charles and Anna Santy Schwenck, at Eagle Grove. She attended Eagle Grove schools and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1914. Following high school, Amy taught country school for two years.

Amy Lucille Schwenck was united in marriage to Thomas Vorre on February 28, 1917, at Fort Dodge. The couple farmed west of Thor, for three years, then northwest of Thor for 18 years before moving to the Schwenck farm in 1940. Amy's grandfather was one of the first pioneers of Wright County. Mr. Vorre died in 1970.

Amy Vorre entered Friendship Haven Nursing Home in Fort Dodge in 1970, where she died on March 29, 1990, at the age of 94 years, nine months, and 16 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Sumner Schwenck.

Funeral services were held on April 2, at 10:30 a.m. at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. The Rev. Scott C. Hall officiated and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
